The company was started by ex Barratts Shoes Buyer Nigel Carr who bought the domain name in the late nineteen nineties. Nigel has a long association with the shoe business starting at Doltish as a trainee store manager in the early eighties and working at Timpson Shoes in Manchester soon after. After nearly nine years at Barratts buying Men's and Children's shoes Nigel set up a design and import agency working with factories in Portugal and Italy. The Italian factory was contracted to make shoes for Ben Sherman and the two companies grew hugely in the late nineties. In 2006 Nigel left the supply businesses behind and set up Shoes.co.UK Ltd.Shoes.co.UK now sells more than 90 collections of shoes, boots, sandals and bags for Men, Women and Children.
